Background	Olaparib (marketed as Lynparza) was developed to treat cancers with specific genetic deficiencies, such as BRCA mutations, by utilizing the principle of synthetic lethality to kill tumor cells while sparing normal cells. It was first approved by the FDA and EMA in December 2014 for advanced, pre-treated BRCA-mutated ovarian cancer.
